If you need to update your Lorex recorder’s password for security reasons or reset it because you’ve forgotten it, follow these simple steps.
Important Notes:
- These instructions apply to recorders supported by the Lorex Cirrus App. Refer to the Lorex Cirrus App Product Compatibility Chart for a list of compatible recorders.

Changing Your Password via the Lorex Cirrus App
Note: You cannot reset your password with the Lorex Cirrus App. To reset your password, you must use your recorder. If you forgot your password, you’ll need to reset it using your recorder.
Steps to Change Your Password:
- Open the Lorex Cirrus App.
- Tap the
icon in the top left corner of the Lorex Cirrus app.
- Select Devices.
- Tap Edit under the recorder you want to update.
- Tap Change Password.
- Enter the required details:
- Old Password: Enter your current password.
- New Password: Choose a new, secure password.
- Confirm New password: Re-enter your new password.
- Tap Save. Your password has been changed!
- Record your password and store it in a secure place.
Changing Your Password via Your Recorder
Note: If resetting your password, use the temporary password sent to you. It expires at the end of the day. If you haven’t received one, refer to "How to Reset Your NVR or DVR's Password".
Resetting your Password
Steps to Change Your Password:
- Log in to your system.
- From the Live View screen, go to
Setup > User.
- Find your account in the user list and click on it.
- Update the details:
- User Name: (Optional) Change the username.
- Password: Enter a new password.
- Confirm Password: Re-enter the new password.
- Click Save. Your new password is now active!
This password will be used to connect to your system from now on.
Reset Your Password
For LHA / LNK Series Recorders: Follow the instructions below.
For all other recorders: Refer to the article How to Reset Your NVR or DVR's Password.
- 1. Log in to your system using the reset password.
2. In the Main Menu, select Users under the System tab.
3. Find the admin account (or the user you want to update).
4. Click Edit to open the User Edit window.
5. Enter and confirm your new password.
6. Click Save. Your new password is now active!
7. Don’t forget to store your password in a safe place.
This password will be used to connect to your system from now on.
Record your password and store it in a secure place.
