N884 Series - NVR Compatibility with 720p Resolution Monitors and Televisions

If you have recently acquired an N884 Series Network Video Recorder (NVR) and want to use it with a 720p resolution monitor or television, follow these steps to ensure compatibility:


  1. Make the NVR Compatible with 720p Resolution Monitors/TVs:

Ensure you have the latest firmware. The latest firmware version required is: N884A6N884A320230919_00018.

To check your NVR's firmware version: * From the Live View display, right-click to open the Quick Menu, then click Info.

OR

  • Press the front panel button on the recorder.

Confirm that this firmware is installed on your NVR. If not, update your NVR to this firmware version. We regularly release new and updated versions of our NVR / DVR firmware. To download and update your recorder with the latest firmware version, please visit our firmware installation guide here.

  1. Perform the Compatibility Process:

Reboot the N884 NVR by turning it off and then back on using the power switch.

  1. Press the FN Key:
  • Wait for 120 seconds after the NVR has been rebooted.
  • Press and hold the FN key for 5 to 8 seconds.
  1. Reboot the NVR Again:

Reboot the N884 NVR by turning it off and then back on using the power switch.

  1. Verify Compatibility:
  • After the NVR has rebooted, it should now be compatible with a 720p resolution monitor or television.
  • Connect your 720p resolution monitor or television to the NVR and check for proper display and functionality.

Additional Tips:

  • Check Connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected to both the NVR and the monitor/TV.
  • Monitor/TV Settings: Verify that the monitor or television is set to the correct input source for the NVR.
  • NVR Settings: If you continue to experience issues, check the NVR settings to ensure it is outputting at 720p resolution.
