Email: Not receiving email notifications when using personal email

If your email notifications are not working, check your email configuration settings, DVR / NVR email settings, and DVR / NVR TCP / IP settings.

To check your email configuration settings:

  • Check your junk or spam folder to see if your email notifications are being moved there.
  • Log into your email account from a different platform (such as a PC / Mac, smartphone, or tablet) to verify that your account information is accurately being entered on your DVR / NVR.
  • If using a Gmail account:
    • Ensure IMAP / POP is set to ON.
    • Ensure Less Secure Apps is enabled
    • Verify the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server and port being used. For Gmail, this would be smtp.gmail.com/Port465
  • Create a different email address and then update your email configurations in your DVR / NVR to ensure the SMTP server is not blocking your original email set-up.
