Modified on Thu, May 29 at 4:40 PM

If your Lorex Wi-Fi security camera appears offline in the Lorex App, this step-by-step guide will help you restore your camera's connection, verify system health, and prevent future connectivity issues.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Step 1: Check Camera Power

Confirm Power Connection

  • Detach the camera from its mount and place it on a flat surface.
  • Inspect the power cord and adapter for visible damage.
  • Ensure both ends of the power cable are securely connected.
  • Plug the adapter into a working outlet and wait for the status light to illuminate.
Important: Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the camera yourself, as this may void the warranty. If damaged, contact Lorex Support.

Step 2: Verify Wi-Fi Network

Check Your Internet

  • Make sure your Wi-Fi network is functioning by testing with another device.
  • If all devices are offline, restart your router.

Restart the Router

  1. Unplug the router from power.
  2. Wait 1 minute.
  3. Plug it back in and allow it to fully reboot.
Tip: Ensure your 2.4GHz network is enabled. Some Lorex cameras do not support 5GHz.

Optimize Camera Placement

  • Ensure your camera is within 20-30 feet of the router.
  • Avoid obstructions like thick walls, metal objects, or electronics like microwaves.

Step 3: Reconnect the Camera to the Lorex App

Open the Lorex App

  1. Open the Lorex App on your mobile device.
  2. Tap on your camera's Device Settings icon (Lorex App - Device Settings).
  3. Tap Wireless Network.

  2. Hold for 10-15 seconds until the LED blinks rapidly.
  3. Reconnect the camera using the Lorex App as if it were new.
Note: A factory reset will erase all settings.

Step 4: Check Battery (If Applicable)

For battery-powered models:

  • Ensure the battery is charged.
  • A drained battery can cause offline status.
  • Use the Lorex App to check the battery level.

Step 5: Check for Firmware Updates
