The W463AQ Series 2K Dual Lens Indoor Pan-Tilt Security Camera can be installed by surface or ceiling mounting.

Connecting to the Lorex App

  1. Download the Lorex App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). If you already have the app, ensure it’s up to date.
  2. Sign up a new Lorex account or log in to your existing one.

Connect cable to camera's power port and an outlet

  1. Connect the camera to the included 6.5 ft (2 m) power cable and plug it into a nearby outlet.
  2. In the app, tap the [+] icon to add a new device.

Device ID QR Code located on camera's base

  1. Tap "Scan QR Code" and scan the device ID on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Join the camera’s network hotspot.
  3. Set a device password.
  4. Select your Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and connect the camera.
  5. Enable or disable audio recording and thumbnails.
  6. Choose your installation orientation: Surface Mounting or Ceiling Mounting.
  7. Name your device.
  8. Optional: Set up Lorex Cloud Storage. For cloud storage options, visit www.lorex.com/cloud.

The Smart Security Lighting indicators on the camera provide information about the current state of the camera, such as whether it is operating:

If your network connection fails, please follow these steps to reset the camera.


Camera Placement Tips

  • Identify the area you want to monitor and place the camera close to it.
  • Avoid placing the camera behind obstructions like furniture or plants.
  • Choose well-lit spots and avoid pointing the camera at direct light sources to prevent glare.
  • Position the camera centrally to maximize pan-tilt coverage and preset key views.
  • Place the call button within easy reach in common areas.
  • Ensure the camera is near a power outlet for easy connection.

Surface Mounting

For surface mounting, simply review the camera placement tips and place the camera on the desired surface.


Ceiling Mounting

Drill holes over mounting template

  1. Use the mounting template to mark and drill 5mm diameter holes.

Insert anchors

  1. Insert anchors into the holes for surfaces like drywall, wood, brick, masonry, or concrete.

Secure mounting bracket with screws

  1. Align the flat side of the mounting bracket with the holes and secure the bracket using the provided screws.

Twist camera base onto bracket

  1. Twist the camera base clockwise onto the mounting bracket.

If you need to rotate the camera's image:

  1. Open the Lorex App.
  2. Tap the device settings icon [Lorex App - Device Settings] next to the camera.
  3. Enable or disable Image Rotation.
