Does this camera support ePoE (Extended Power over Ethernet)?
Yes, the camera supports ePoE technology. With ePoE, you can connect the camera up to 600 m (2000 ft) away using just one Ethernet cable, compared to the standard 100 m (328 ft) limit. This technology enables both power and data transmission through the same cable. The NVR it connects to must also be equipped with an ePoE port, essential for providing power and ensuring effective communication with the camera.
Can I connect the camera to a PoE switch instead of directly to the NVR?
Yes. You can connect the camera to a PoE switch and then connect the switch to the NVR. Ensure your switch is properly powered and supports PoE.
How do I view footage from my phone?
- Download the Lorex app compatible with your NVR.
- Ensure your NVR is connected to the internet via Ethernet.
- Scan your NVR’s Device ID QR code (located on the device) to add it to the app.
How can I update my camera’s firmware?
- Contact Lorex Technical Support to request the firmware (for security reasons, it must be provided by Lorex).
- Save the firmware to a USB drive.
- Insert the USB into your NVR.
- Go to Main Menu > Camera > Device Registration > Firmware, select the camera, and choose Update Firmware.
How do I reset the camera?
- Keep the camera powered via PoE or 12V DC adapter.
- Unscrew the bottom compartment to access the reset button.
- Press and hold the button for 10 seconds until the camera reboots.
How do I enable person and vehicle detection?
- On your NVR, go to Events > Smart Motion Plus or Person and Vehicle Detection.
- Enable person and vehicle detection, draw motion zones, and configure trigger actions.
Refer to your NVR’s manual for detailed steps.
How do I reduce false alerts?
- Fine-tune motion zones.
- Adjust person and vehicle detection sensitivity.
- Use scheduling or snooze alerts in the app or NVR settings.
Does the camera have audio?
The camera includes a built-in microphone (listen-in only). It does not include a speaker; external powered audio devices are required for two-way audio. Audio is supported only on compatible Lorex NVRs.
What power options are available?
Supports PoE (802.3af) and 12V DC (regulated only). Do not use unregulated power adapters as this may damage the device.
Is this camera weatherproof and vandal resistant?
Yes. It is ideal for outdoor installations.
- IP67-rated for weather resistance.
- IK10-rated for vandal resistance.
What’s the ideal installation height and angle?
- Mount the camera 10 ft (3 m) above ground.
- Angle the camera 15° downward for optimal coverage.
