Lorex App - Settings Tab

This article illustrates the functions and capabilities of the settings tab in the Lorex app.


 Navigating to the Settings Tab 

  1. Open the Lorex App.
  2. Tap the  button in the bottom right of the screen. You have now navigated to the Settings Tab.

  1. Tap Recordings / Snapshots to open the desired page.
  2. Tap  to edit and open the other settings.
  • Tap  to select all recordings / snapshots, and again to de-select all recordings / snapshots.
  • Tap  to share your recording / snapshot through text, email, AirDrop, or other sharing app.
  • Tap  to save the recording / snapshot.
  • Tap  to delete the recording / snapshot.

        3. Tap on your recording / snapshot to open its specific settings.

  • Tap  to take a Snapshot of your recording (Recording only).

  • Tap to rename your recording, then tap OK to confirm (Recording only).

The Home & Away function allows you to get notifications when you are away from your Lorex devices.

  1. Tap Home & Away to open the desired page.
  2. Make sure that location settings are enabled on your phone so that you can use Home & Away settings.
  3. Tap Notification Settings to configure notifications.
    • Tap Configure Notifications for Home and tap to enable notifications for each camera when you are in the home area.
    • Tap Configure Notifications for Away and Tap  to disable notifications for each camera when you are outside of the home area.
  4. Tap Modify Home Area > scroll and zoom so that desired location and size of the home area is set and tap Set Home Area to confirm.
  5. Tap Disable Home & Away to turn off all Home & Away settings and tap Enable to turn them on.

These settings allow you to change the order of which cameras are displayed in your Lorex App. Please read Rearrange Devices on the Lorex App for more information.

The Notification Settings allow you to set alert tones, doorbell ringtones, and a notification schedule.

  1. Tap Notification Settings to open the desired page.
  2. Tap Notification Alert Tone > choose an alert tone > Tap Save to confirm.
  3. Tap Doorbell Ringtone > choose a ringtone > Tap Save to confirm.
  4.  Tap Notification Schedule to choose when you would like to receive notifications.
  • Tap Start Time to choose when you will begin receiving notifications.
  • Tap End Time to choose when you will finish receiving notifications.
  • Tap Save to confirm your selections.
This is the second item's accordion body. It is hidden by default, until the collapse plugin adds the appropriate classes that we use to style each element. These classes control the overall appearance, as well as the showing and hiding via CSS transitions. You can modify any of this with custom CSS or overriding our default variables. It's also worth noting that just about any HTML can go within the .accordion-body, though the transition does limit overflow.

Account Settings allow you to configure information relating to your Lorex App account.

  1. Tap Account Settings in the Settings Tab to open the desired page.
  2. Tap Account Information > Region > Tap your location > Save to change your region settings.
  3. Tap Security.
    • Tap Change Password, enter your current password, then enter a new password > tap Done. The password to your Lorex App account has been successfully changed. Please read Lorex App - How to Change or Reset Your Recorder's Password for more information.
    • Tap to disable Face ID Login, and again to enable it. When enabled, Face ID allows you to quickly login to the Lorex App when opened.
    • Tap Export Account information > Export > input the email you would like to share the account information with > Next > Input the activation code that has been sent to that email address > Okay. Your information has now been exported.
    • To delete your Lorex App account, tap Delete Account and confirm by tapping I want to delete this account. For more information please visit How to Delete Your Lorex App Account
  4. Tap Two Step Verification, then tap  to require two step verification to open your Lorex App. Tap it once again to disable this feature.
  5. Tap Privacy Policy to view the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for the Lorex App.
  6. Tap Clear Cache to delete all temporary data that has been stored. This may help to improve and increase the performance speed.
  7. Tap Log Out > OK to log out of your account.

If you would like to expand your Lorex system, the Add more Lorex devices button brings you to the Lorex website where more Lorex products can be purchased.

The Lorex Cloud Storage settings page allows you to review your Lorex Cloud subscriptions or navigates you to more information on Lorex Cloud subscriptions if you do not have one.

If you would like to link your Lorex Account to your Amazon Alexa

  1. Tap Amazon Alexa in the Settings tab.
  2. Tap Allow to link your Lorex Account with Alexa.
  3. You will be redirected to the Alexa App. Tap Link to enable Account Linking.

The Google Assistant setting, navigates you to the Lorex Smart Home -Hey Google, which includes more information on connecting your Lorex Devices to Google Assistant products.

If you cannot solve a problem with your Lorex product, referring to product support articles may be a good next step.

  1. Tap Get Product Support in the Settings tab.
  2. Tap on the product you require support for.
  3. The product support page for your product will open. Here you can find support articles, quick start guides, troubleshooting articles, and product specifications.

Note: this feature is only available for users within Toronto Canada.

This section of the Settings tab leads you to the Toronto Crime Stoppers website where you can fill out a form to report a crime.

This section of the Settings tab allows you to find the version of your Lorex app, as well as what has been updated.

  1. Tap About in the Settings tab. Here you will find the version of your Lorex app.
  2. Tap What’s new? To find out what has been changed in each update.
