Lorex App - Shared Users

Adding a Shared User allows a friend or family member to gain access to camera footage and settings. Follow this guide to make the most of these features.

Adding Shared Users to Wired Devices

Note: If your wired device is a wired camera connected to an NVR or DVR system, you must add shared users from the recorder's Device Settings within the Lorex App. You cannot share access to individual cameras connected to an NVR/DVR. Shared User invitations are managed in the app, not through the local NVR interface.

Tap the icon above your device in the Lorex home screen.
Tap ... in the top right corner of the screen.
Scroll down and tap Shared Users.
Tap Add Shared User to invite another person to view your camera footage and edit camera settings.
Type in your shared user’s email address, customise permissions, and tap Confirm.
The shared user will receive this email and must click Accept Invite.

Adding Shared Users to Smart Home Devices

Note: These steps are applicable to most Lorex Smart Home devices. If these steps are not applicable for your device, refer to the steps for wired devices.

Tap your device's thumbnail in the Lorex home screen.
Tap the
icon in the top right corner of the Liveview screen.
Tap Add Shared User to invite another person to view your camera footage and edit camera settings.
Type in your shared user’s email address, customise permissions, and tap Confirm.
The shared user will receive this email and must click Accept Invite.

This is the second item's accordion body. It is hidden by default, until the collapse plugin adds the appropriate classes that we use to style each element. These classes control the overall appearance, as well as the showing and hiding via CSS transitions. You can modify any of this with custom CSS or overriding our default variables. It's also worth noting that just about any HTML can go within the .accordion-body, though the transition does limit overflow.

Removing a Shared User

Tap the icon above your device in the Lorex home screen.
If your device is a wired camera or recorder, tap ... in the top right corner of the screen.
Scroll down and tap Shared Users
Tap on the existing shared user that you would like to remove.
Tap Remove Shared User and confirm by tapping Remove Shared User once again.
