How to Access Device Settings


- Open the Lorex Pro App.
- On the Home screen, locate your recorder.
- Tap the Device Settings button (
) next to your recorder name.
You'll now be in the Device Settings for this recorder.
Notification Settings
Notification settings allow you to control which alerts you receive on your phone based on motion or smart detection events.
How to Enable Notifications:
- Device Settings (
) > Push Notifications.
- Toggle the switch to enable or disable all notifications.
Notification Options:
- Push Notification Schedule: Set time periods when you want to receive alerts.
- Motion Detection Alerts: Select cameras to receive motion alerts.
- Smart Motion Detection Alerts: Select cameras for person/vehicle detection.
- Tripwire Detection Alerts: Receive alerts for tripwire triggers.
- Storage Alerts: Receive alerts for no storage, full, error.
- Face Detection Alerts: Select cameras that support face detection.
- More Detection Alerts: Advanced detection (Loitering, Parking, Missing/Abandoned Objects)
Always tap Save after modifying your notification settings.
Stream Settings (Video Settings)
The Stream Settings controls video quality for live view and playback to balance between video clarity and internet performance.
How to Access:
- Device Settings (
) > Stream Settings.
Stream Options:
- Live: Select between Main stream (highest video quality) or Sub stream (lower bandwidth usage for smoother streaming).
- Playback: Select between Main stream or Sub stream when reviewing recorded footage.
- Video Player Size: Choose between Fit Screen Size or Original Scale for how video displays on your device.
Tap Save after changes.
Remote Configuration
The Remote Configuration contains advanced system settings for motion detection, camera configuration, alarms, recording schedules, image adjustments, and hard drive management.
Motion Detection
Set how and when your cameras detect movement and record events.
How to Access:
- Device Settings (
) > Remote Configuration > Video Detection > Motion Detection.
Motion Detection Settings (Per Camera):
- Enable/Disable Motion Detection.
- Advanced Configuration:
- Arm/Disarm Period: Select days/times when motion detection is active.
- Anti-Dither: Adjust delay between motion triggers.
- Sensitivity: Set detection sensitivity (1-100).
- Region Setting: Draw custom detection zones on camera image:
- Red Grid = Active Motion Zone
- Use the Pencil (draw zones), Eraser (remove zones), or Hand (move images) tools to modify zones.
- Record: Enable recording when motion is detected.
- Delay: Set delay before recording starts.
- Alarm Output: Enable/disable external alarms.
- Snapshot: Take snapshots when motion is triggered.
Always tap Save after changes.
Video Stream
Control each camera's resolution, encoding, and bitrate settings.
How to Access Video Stream:
- Device Settings (
) > Remote Configuration > Camera Setting > Video Stream.
Video Stream Settings:
- Select camera channel.
- Configure:
- Main/Sub Stream
- Encode Code
- Video On/Off
- Audio On/Off
- Resolution: Change camera resolution.
- Frame Rate: Adjust frames-per-second.
- Bitrate Type: CBR= Constant bitrate, VBR=Variable bitrate.
- Bitrate Level: Adjust data usage vs video quality.
Recording Schedule
Create custom recording schedules for each camera.
How to Access:
- Device Settings (
) > Remote Configuration > Record Plan.
Options:
- Select camera channel.
- Tap the Edit button (
) to modify daily schedule:
- Normal: Continuous 24/7 recording
- Motion Detection: Record only when motion occurs
- Alarm: Record when external alarms are triggered
- Copy schedule to other days.
- Tap Save to finish.
Image Adjustment
Fine-tune how your camera image appears.
How to Access:
- Device Settings (
) > Remote Configuration > Image Adjustment.
Options:
- Resize image
- Rotate image
- Adjust:
- Brightness
- Shadows
- Color levels
Storage Manager
View and manage your recorder's internal hard drive.
How to Access:
- Device Settings (
) > Remote Configuration > Image Adjustment.
Storage Settings:
- HDD: View hard drive name.
- Status (Running/Idle): View hard drive status.
- Free/Total Capacity: See free and total capacity.
- Format the disk as needed. This erases all data and prepares disk for use.
Arm/Disarm by Period
Create schedules to automatically enable or disable recording and alerts.
How to Access:
- Device Settings (
) > Remote Configuration > Arm/Disarm by Period.
Options:
- Toggle to enable scheduling.
- Tap Arm/Disarm Period, then set time periods to automatically enable/disable recording or alerts.
- Tap Save to apply.
