Updating Firmware

This article explains the basics of how to update your firmware for any Lorex device and points you to more detailed information.

Update your Recorder's Firmware

To update your recorder's firmware, navigate to the Update & Reset / Firmware / Upgrade page and check for updates. To find this page, and for more information, refer to your recorder's manual which can be found on your recorder's support page. Included below is instructions for our many of our newer recorders:

1. On your recorder, go to Main Menu > System > Update & Reset > Upgrade.
2. Ensure Automatically Check for Updates is checked.
3. Click Check for Updates to check for a newer firmware version.
4. If a newer version is found, click Upgrade Now to upgrade the system.

Update your IP or Smart Home Camera's Firmware

For IP and Smart Home camera's you must call tech support to update your firmware. Please call 1-888-425-6739.

Updating Other Wired Camera's Firmware

All other wired cameras can be updated from their associated app. Navigate to your app's Firmware Upgrade page to check for updates. Lorex Cirrus App - Configuring settings gives information on updating firmware from the Cirrus App.
