Installation and Setup

How do I set up the floodlight camera?

For complete step-by-step setup instructions, including mounting and connecting to the Lorex Connect app, please refer to the Installation Guide.


Where can I find the Device ID?

You can locate the Device ID in two ways:

  • On the device itself: Look for the label on the back of the device beside “DEVICE ID:”.
  • In the Lorex Connect app:Home > Settings > Device info > Device ID.


How do I connect or change Wi-Fi?

  • Open the app: Home > Settings > Device info > Wi-Fi network.
  • Select your Wi-Fi, enter the password, and tap Continue
    • The floodlight camera connects only to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

What do the status LED lights mean?


Solid RedCamera is on but not connected yet.
Solid Red (resetting)Factory reset in progress.
Flashing GreenReady to set up or connecting.
Flashing RedConnected to Wi-Fi but not the internet.
Solid GreenWorking normally.
Flashing Red & GreenFirmware update in progress.


How do I reset the floodlight camera?

  1. Press and hold the reset button until you hear the audio prompt and the LED turns red.
  2. Release the button and wait for it to restart.
Note: You’ll need to set it up again after resetting.


How do I remove/insert the MicroSD card?

Depending on your package, a MicroSD card may or may not be included. Supports up to 256 GB.

Warning: Always stop recording or power off before removing the card.
  1. Remove the two screws on the compartment cover at the bottom.

  2. To remove: Press and release to eject.
  3. To insert: Slide it in until it clicks.
  4. Replace the cover and tighten screws.
  5. if prompted, format microSD card.


What MicroSD card is supported?

Up to 256 GB (V10, FAT32). To format the microSD card, go to Settings > Storage > Format storage.


How do I rear-route the cable behind the wall?

If you prefer to hide the power cable behind the wall, you can neatly rear-route it through the mounting surface using the cable notch on the mounting plate.

  1. When marking your installation spot, drill a centered pass-through hole behind the mounting plate for the cable.
  2. On the back of the mounting plate, align the adhesive mounting pad so that the pad’s opening matches the cable notch.
  3. Feed the camera’s power cable through the notch and out the hole on the mounting plate.
  4. Secure the mounting plate to the wall using the provided screws.
Tip: Rear-routing provides a cleaner look by hiding the power cable and adapter, but make sure the cable path is clear and accessible before drilling.

How do I view my camera?

In the app: Home > Tap floodlight camera image preview.


How do I pan the camera in Live View?

  1. Open Live view and tap the Pan button.
  2. Tap arrows to move left/right, save presets, or reset position.
Note: Only pans horizontally.


How do I play back recordings?

  • From Live View, tap  Playback.
  • Or tap the Playback button on the Home screen.


How do I manually record video?

  • In Live view, tap  Record to start/stop.
  • Find saved clips under App settings > Snapshots & Recordings.


How do I take a snapshot?

Tap  Snapshot in Live view. Saved under App settings > Snapshots & Recordings.


How do I use Privacy Mode?

Tap the  Privacy Mode button on the camera image preview to pause recording. Tap again to resume.


How do I save a video clip?

  1. While watching a video, tap  Download.
  2. Choose where to save it.
Note: Local recordings are stored on the microSD card.


How do I share my floodlight camera?

  1. Home > Settings > Share device, or App settings > Shared users.
  2. Enter email, assign Admin or Guest, then Send invite.


How do I manage shared users?

Go to App settings > Shared users to change permissions or remove users.


How do I set up Motion or Person Detection?

  1. Go to Settings > Detection settings.
  2. Turn on Motion or Person detection.
  3. Adjust sensitivity and motion zones.


How do I set Motion Zones?

Go to Settings > Detection settings > Motion zones and add or edit zones.


How do I set up Sound Detection?

  1. Go to Settings > Detection settings > Sound detection.
  2. Adjust sensitivity and turn on Activate light on sound.


How do I set alerts?

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications and alerts.
  2. Enable alerts, choose detection types, and set the notification schedule.


Do the floodlights work with motion?

Yes. You can turn on lights for motion or person detection in Settings > Light settings > Light activation.


Can I schedule the floodlights?

Yes — use Settings > Light settings > Light schedule to set times (Sunrise/Sunset), add a schedule, set days, and fade options.


How do I turn off the status LED?

Go to Settings > Light settings > Status LED light and turn off.

Note: Turning off the LED disables visual status cues.


How do I turn on 2-Way Talk?

In Live View, tap the  Talk button.


How do I adjust audio?

Go to Settings > Audio settings to adjust speaker volume, microphone sensitivity, or turn audio recording on/off.


How do I control the siren?

Tap  Siren in Live view or adjust in Settings > Siren settings.


Where are my recordings stored?

  • Device Storage (MicroSD): Continuous, auto-overwrite when full.


How do I check or format storage?

  • Go to Settings > Storage.
  • Tap Format storageto clear data.
    Warning: Formatting erases all recordings.
