If your FL301 Series - 2K Floodlight Wi-Fi Camera isn’t working as expected, use this guide to quickly fix the most common issues.

For more help, see the Installation Guide, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), or the full Lorex Connect App Guide.

Resetting the Floodlight Camera

The reset button is located on the bottom of the floodlight camera, next to the speaker. The floodlight camera must be powered on for the reset to work.

  1. Press and hold the reset button until you hear the audio prompt and the status LED turns red.
  2. Release the button and wait for the floodlight camera to restart.
Note: After resetting, you’ll need to set up the floodlight camera again in the Lorex Connect app.

Depending on the package purchased, a MicroSD card may or may not be included. Supports up to 256 GB.

Warning: Removing the card while the camera is recording may result in data loss. Always stop recording or power off the camera before removing the MicroSD card.
  1. Use the included screwdriver to remove the two screws on the MicroSD compartment cover, located on the bottom of the floodlight camera next to the speaker.
  2. To remove the card: Gently press the MicroSD card inward until it clicks, then release. The card will partially eject so you can pull it out.
  3. To insert the card: Slide a MicroSD card into the slot until it clicks into place.
  4. Replace the compartment cover and tighten both screws.
  5. Power on the floodlight camera. Open the Lorex Connect app > Home > More options menu > Settings > Storage to confirm the MicroSD card is detected.

  • Make sure the power cable is fully inserted. The connection should feel snug for waterproofing.
  • Test the outlet with another device to confirm it’s working.
  • The floodlight camera only operates between -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C). If outside this range, bring it back into range.

  • Confirm the floodlight camera is powered on (check the status LED light).
  • On your phone, make sure Wi-Fi and Location permissions are enabled for the Lorex Connect app.
  • During setup, your phone must connect to the floodlight camera’s hotspot. Tap Join when prompted, or connect manually in your phone’s Wi-Fi settings.

  • Wipe the QR code label and your phone’s floodlight camera lens.
  • Scan in bright, even light.
  • Tap Manually enter Device ID in the app.

  • Re-enter your Wi-Fi password carefully.
  • This floodlight camera supports 2.4 GHz only. Make sure your router’s 2.4 GHz band is enabled.
  • Check Wi-Fi signal strength under Settings > Device info > Signal strength. Move the floodlight camera closer to the router or use a Wi-Fi extender if needed.

  • Check Wi-Fi strength in the app under Settings > Device info > Wi-Fi strength
  • If offline, reconnect under Settings > Device info > Wi-Fi network.
  • Confirm the power adapter is securely connected.
  • Try changing your router’s Wi-Fi channel to reduce interference.
  • Move the floodlight camera closer to the router or use a Wi-Fi extender if needed.
Note: If the floodlight camera is unresponsive, turn the power off for 10 seconds, then back on. Wait for the LED to return before retrying.

  • In the app, go to Settings > Detection settings and make sure Motion detection or Person detection is enabled.
  • Check Settings > Light settings > Light activation and select All Motion or Person. Adjust sensitivity and duration if needed.
  • If trying to activate lights manually, tap the  Light button on the floodlight camera thumbnail or in Live View.
  • Person detection range is up to 23 ft (7 m). Reposition the floodlight camera if detection distance is exceeded.

  • Ensure the lens and IR LEDs are not blocked. Don't aim the camera directly at brick walls, fences, ceilings or glass - the infrared light will bounce back and cause glare.
  • Avoid pointing the floodlight camera at windows or shiny surfaces.
  • The night vision range is up to 26 ft (8 m). Adjust the floodlight camera angle for best results.

  • In the app, go to Settings > Audio settings and:
    • Increase Microphone sensitivity if sound is too low.
    • Increase Speaker volume if playback is too quiet.
  • Make sure Audio recording is enabled (check local laws before recording).
  • Remove anything blocking the microphone.

  • In the app, go to Settings > Detection settings and make sure Motion detection or Person detection is turned on.
  • Check Motion zones under Detection settings > Motion zones. Redraw or resize zones to cover the right area.
  • Increase sensitivity if alerts are too few.
  • For thumbnails in alerts, enable Event and notification images under Settings > Notifications and alerts.

  • Power off the floodlight camera and reinsert the card until it clicks.
  • Make sure the card is formatted to FAT32. You can format it in the app under Settings > Storage.
  • Use a supported card (up to 256 GB, V10).
  • If the card is detected but not recording, check available storage under Storage and Format storage if needed.
