Lorex Connect App - Device Settings

Important: App screens may look different depending on your device model, firmware version, and app updates. The instructions below are meant as a general guide.

Each camera has its own Settings for detection, lighting, notifications, video, audio, siren, storage, and device info.

Open Camera Settings

From the Home icon Home tab, tap More optionsSettings on your camera’s image preview.


Detection Settings

Set up motion & AI detection (person, sound, vehicle, package, animal.), detection sensitivity, motion zones, and auto-tracking.

Note: Your camera may have different options depending on the model.


Light Settings

Customize how your camera’s light works, whether you want it to turn on motion detection, follow a schedule, or adjust its brightness.

Note: Your camera may have different options depending on the model (floodlight vs. lightbulb). For exact steps, refer to the camera's product-specific guides.
  • Go to Settings > Light settings.

Light Activation

  • Light activation: Set how your lights will be activated - for all motion or only when a person is detected.
  • Detection sensitivity: Set how much motion is required to turn on the lights.
  • Light brightness: Control how bright the light gets. 
  • Light mode: Choose whether the light stays solid or flashes when activated. 
  • Light duration: Set how long the light will remain on after it is activated. 
  • Light activation schedule: Choose when motion activation is active (for example, only at night).

Light Schedule

Easily set when your camera light turns on or off, automatically or by your own schedule. 

  • Sunrise / Sunset: Use these options to have your light follow natural daylight. Turn on to automatically match sunrise and sunset times for your location. 
  • Add a custom schedule: 
    • Tap + add a schedule to create your own lighting routine. 
    • Action: Choose whether your light will turn on or turn off at the selected time. 
    • Fade duration: Add a timed soft transition when your light changes. 
    • Repeat every: Pick which days of the week the schedule should repeat. 
    • Time: Select a specific time or choose Sunrise or Sunset for automatic timing.

Status LED Light

Turn the small indicator light on or off. (Status meanings vary by model.)


Notifications & Alerts

  • Go to Settings > Notifications and alerts.
  • Turn Alerts on/off.
  • Choose types (varies by model): Person, Vehicle, Sound, Device offline.
  • Notification image previews: Include an image preview in push notifications.
  • Alert tone: Pick a sound.
  • Notification schedule: Limit alerts to certain times.

Video Settings

  • Go to Settings > Video settings.
  • Video resolution: Choose stream/recording quality.
  • Colour night vision: Requires sufficient ambient lighting. Not recommended in low-light conditions.
  • Display timestamp & Lorex watermark: Show/hide overlays.
  • Camera orientation: Select which way your camera will be installed, to flip/rotate the image.




 


Audio Settings

  • Go to Settings > Audio settings.
  • Adjust Speaker volume.
  • Adjust Microphone sensitivity.
  • Enable/disable Audio recording.
     Audio recording laws vary by region. Always ensure compliance with local regulations.


Siren Settings

  • Go to Settings > Siren settings.
  • Adjust Siren volume.
  • Select a Siren tone (where supported).


Shared Device

Share your camera with trusted family members or friends so they can view it in the Lorex Connect app.

To share from a specific camera:

  1. Go to Settings > Share device on your camera’s image preview.
  2. Select the permissions you want to give (for example, Live View, Playback, or Events).
  3. Enter the user’s email (they must have a Lorex Connect account), then tap Confirm.

To manage shared users:

  1. Go to App Settings > Shared Users.
  2. View pending invites, edit permissions, or remove users as needed.
Note: Shared users can only access the features you allow, such as Live View, Playback, or Events. Learn more in the Shared Users guide.


Storage

Manage where your camera saves video recordings.

  • Go to Settings > Storage.
  • Lorex Cloud Storage: Secure backup of event recordings; plan-dependent history.
  • Device storage (microSD): Your camera records directly to the microSD card. When the card is full, the oldest recordings are automatically overwritten with new ones.
  • Format storage: Erases all recordings on the microSD card and prepares it for new recordings.

 

Device Info

View details about your camera and manage basic settings.

  • Go to Settings > Device info.
  • Device name: Rename your camera.
  • Time zone: Automatically sync with your phone’s location or set the time zone and daylight savings time manually.
  • Firmware: View/update version.
  • IDs: view your camera's Device ID, serial number, model number, MAC address, IP address.
  • Wi-Fi network / Signal strength: Change which Wi-Fi network your camera is connected to and check how strong the signal is.
    A stronger signal means better video quality and fewer connection drops.
  • Reboot device: Restart your camera safely from the app.


Remove Device 

Remove your camera from the app when you no longer want it linked to your account. 

  • Go to Settings > Remove device, then confirm when prompted.
Note: Removing a device deletes its connection from your app, but it does not erase any recordings saved on the microSD card.
