Lorex Connect App - Getting Started & Home

Important: App screens may look different depending on your device model, firmware version, and app updates. The instructions below are meant as a general guide.

The Lorex Connect App is your all-in-one tool for monitoring and managing your Lorex security cameras and systems, right from your smartphone. This guide will walk you through downloading the app, setting up your account, connecting your first device, and understanding the home screen layout.

Download & Install the App 

The Lorex Connect App is available for iOS and Android devices.

  1. Open the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play Store (Android). 
  2. Search for “Lorex Connect”.
  3. Tap Download or Install.
  4. Open the app once installation is complete.
Note: Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS or Android for the best experience.


Create an Account or Log In 

You’ll need a Lorex Connect account to use the app.

  • Create an account
    • Tap Create an account
    • Enter your name, country, email address, and password
    • Review and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. 
    • Tap Create account
    • Check your email for a 6-digit code and enter it in the app to confirm your email
  • Log in
    • Tap Log in
    • Enter your email address, password, and country.
    • Tap Log in to access your account.
    • For your first login, check your email for a 6-digit code and enter it in the app.
Your data is stored and processed on servers in your country, depending on where you’re located.


Add Your First Device 

Once you’re signed in, you can connect your first Lorex camera or system.

  1. From the  Home tab, tap Add device and choose your product type (For example, "2K floodlight camera").
  2. Plug in or power up your device and wait for the status LED light or voice prompt to confirm it’s in setup mode.
  3. Allow the app to use Bluetooth and select your device from the list when it appears.
    • For the FL301 Series - 2K floodlight camera: Point your phone at the device’s QR code (on the label) and follow the app instructions.
  4. Select your Wi-Fi network (scroll down), enter the password, and tap Continue.
    Note: Some cameras connect to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks only.
  5. Give it a clear name (for example, "Front door"), then tap Continue.
  6. Allow any updates to install.
    Do not power off the device. Once the update is complete, your device will reboot.
  7. Format the SD card if prompted.
  8. To register your device for warranty, visit www.lorex.com/warranty.

Your device will now appear on the Home screen. Tap its image preview anytime to open Live view.

Note: If setup fails, double-check your Wi-Fi password, move closer to your router, reboot the device, and try again.


Home is the first thing you see when you open the Lorex Connect app. From here, you can view and manage all your connected devices.

To access Home: Tap the  Home tab at the bottom of the app.

View Your Camera 

  • Tap the camera's image preview to open Live view
  • The camera's image preview also shows the device name (for example, “Backyard”).


Quick Controls

Tap a quick control on the camera's image preview.

Open all camera settings.
Control multiple devices together.
Invite others to view your camera.
Device alerts Enabled

Tap to snooze notifications for 30 minutes, 1 hour, or until the end of the day. Controls alerts only on this specific phone.
Disabled


Battery status 90%-100%

Only displays if supported by device.
21%-89%


11%-20%


1%-10%


Charging


Solar powered


Cloud status Active

Only displays if supported by device.
Inactive


Local storage error

Only displays if error occurs.
Privacy mode Enabled

Turn on privacy mode. When on, the camera stops recording and the image turns black.
Disabled

Turn off privacy mode.
Spotlight / Floodlight Enabled

Turn on the light.
Disabled

Turn off the light.
Brightness 1%-100%Only displays if supported by device. Light must be enabled.
Slide up or down to adjust light brightness.
Note: If you use the light from the Home screen, the change will not appear in the image preview. To see the effect, open Live view.


Other Home Features

  • Smart Search: Quickly find recordings by typing a question (subscription required).
Playback

Go to recorded videos.
Add device

Add a new Lorex Connect device.
All / Groups

Switch between all devices and grouped devices.
Reorder camera previews

Set the order your camera previews are shown.
Do not disturb

Snooze notifications for all devices.


Add to a Group

Grouping lets you organize multiple devices together so you can view and manage them more easily from one place. This is helpful if you have several cameras in the same area.

  1. TapSettings on a camera's thumbnail, then select Add to group.
  2. Group name: Enter a name for the group (for example, “Backyard Cameras” or “Front of House”).
  3. Devices: Tap to choose which cameras you want in this group, then tap Save.

Note: Grouping currently helps you organize cameras together for easier management. Group light settings (light synchronization features) will be added in a future update.
