This article explains how to download, install, and set up your Lorex Pro App for the first time.

What is the Lorex Pro App?

The Lorex Pro App allows you to remotely control, monitor, and manage your Lorex professional-grade security camera systems directly from your mobile device.

• View live security footage anytime.
• Play back recorded events.
• Customize motion detection and notifications.
• Manage camera settings remotely.

Compatibility

Before your begin, confirm your recorder or camera model is compatible with the Lorex Pro App.

• The app works with professional-grade Lorex NVR systems and cameras.
• Check the compatibility chart to confirm your model is supported.

Downloading the Lorex Pro App

You can download the app on your smartphone:

• For iOS (iPhone): Download from the App Store.
• For Android: Download from Google Play Store.
• Search for "Lorex Pro."
  

Installation Permissions:

• Allow the app to access your local network when prompted.
• Ensure your mobile device is on the same network as your recorder for initial setup.

Adding Devices

Once the app is installed and permissions granted, you're ready to add your recorder.

1. Open the Lorex Pro App.
2. Tap the Add Device button (+).
   
3. Choose one of the following options:
   • Scan Device ID: Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code on your recorder.
   • Enter IP/Domain: Manually enter your recorder's network information.
   • Online Search: Scan your network for compatible Lorex devices.
4. Follow on-screen prompts to complete setup.
5. Once added, your system will appear on the Home Screen with thumbnail previews of each camera. 
   • Swipe horizontally to view all cameras. 
   • Tap any thumbnail to open the live view.

Home Screen - Your Main Dashboard

When you open the Lorex Pro App, you'll land on the Home screen. This is where you manage your connected recorders and view live footage.

Top Bar Buttons

• Live View Button (Live): Instantly opens full live view for all connected devices.
• Playback Button ( Playback): Accesses playback recordings.

Device List

• Displays each connected recorder.
• Thumbnail previews show current snapshots from connected cameras.
• Swipe horizontally (right/left) to scroll through camera thumbnails.

Device Options

Each device entry has quick-access buttons:

• Play Live View (): Launches Live View for that recorder.
• Device Settings (): Opens full settings menu for that device.
• Camera Thumbnails: Tap on any thumbnail to open full-screen live view for that camera.

Bottom Menu Tabs

• Home: Main dashboard.
• Events: View recorded events. 
• Settings: Manage app settings and files.
